The name makes it sound like a big box of woo, but Googling around a bit makes it look at least somewhat legitimate. And Obesity Review seems like it’s unquestionably an actual journal.
I am here, wondering how they came to that conclusion.. I was given 2 drugs by my doctor which cause rapid weight gain, One for blood pressure, and one to sleep, (antidepressant, which I did not need) which I discovered was designed for anorexics who could not gain weight. It created a craving for fats, because it must have destroyed the good cholesterol, and makes you eat all the fats like butter, chocolates, chips, and any fried foods you can get your hands on. If the brain is depleted of “good” cholesterol, or fats, like omegas, you will look for any fats, and eating the wrong ones, will make the problem even worse., and some start to hide foods like donuts under their bed.. I have seen it, but did not understand it till it happened to me.
I accidently started to take flax seed oil pills, and the cravings went away. I did read later about the drugs, and stopped them too. Now I hate the smell and taste of chips.. I gained 70 pounds in a short time, and it all went to the belly, because I have 3 hernias there, and the muscles are also separated, so if the muscle does not work, the fat goes to the area.. I have lost most of it, and searching for a good surgeon, which is what I went to the doctor for before he gave me these pills, that I did not need. I now wonder if it was intentional ??
I just wonder when they have a number of obese people, how do they know they did not gain because of a drug they took a while ago.. The cravings would remain, and they would be sitting in McDonald’s, and later having a large bag of chips in front of the TV…
I assume that a bad diet of bad fats for a long time might produce this shortage of good fats in the brain, as well… therefore, we should all be taking the good omegas all the time to counteract the possibility of cravings, making sure our wonderful brain is well fed..
I need to see these papers and how some studies are done before I trust any. I like the New England Journal, and the University of North Carolina papers. I am hoping that this makes sense to you. I needed this to happen, so I could warn people, and also the diastasis and hernias is very common. If your waist refuses to decrease with diet and exercise, it may be ruptures of different types. It only gets worse with age, and then they will say”It is old age” and ignore you. The men get a beer belly, and the women get mommy tummy. What a joke ! God Bless !! ( How long do you have to use these shampoos before it shows ?” sorry for being so verbose..
Ah, a study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. I heard they’re right up there with the New England Journal of Medicine.
