Beard Trustworthiness Index

Click for full-size. Via Facebook. I tend to oscillate between “full” and “unkempt,” with occasional dashes towards “werewolf.” I’m not sweating it.

  1. I think my beard trust is the exact inverse of this list (although I don’t know where I stand on the Hitler ‘stache; it’s complicated by the fact that it has an inherent duality of Hitler/Chaplin). People with pencil staches I associate with being artistic and with knowing exactly what they wants out of the world, which means one doesn’t have to be suspicious of such people.

One does have to admit, however, that full beards give an illusion of trustworthiness, which is why full-bearded people tend to be all the more duplicitous. One thinks: comfort, stability, sanity. But that’s not at all what you get.

I can’t help but take this a little personally.

      • That was the joke. I’ve actually never met a duplicitous full-bearded person, although there are some famous full-bearded people I’m very suspicious of. In terms of personal experience, though, I can think of very few full-bearded people I don’t like.
