  1. On Lost: They died when the nuclear reactor went off on the island.

  2. Naw, they all died in their own ways at their own time. The dialogue makes it clear that Hurley and Ben ran the island for decades after Jack died…

  3. If you watch the whole show you actually find that the bomb was a causation paradox — while time-traveling on the Island the characters set off the nuke and thereby created the conditions that brought them to the Island in the first place.

  4. But this time they died: hence the wreckage of the plane as the final shot of the series.

  6. Not at all: I’m saying the makers of the show pulled a Donnie Darko (you can negate the events leading to the past/present by killing yourself), not a typical time travel story (the events caused by your travel back in time lead to the present events that you thought you were negating).

  7. No, that doesn’t make sense in the context of having watched the show. The bomb sends them back to the present, at which time the events of the last season take place. Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, and Ben all survive the events of the final episode, and die sometime later in the future.
