  2. No doubt, but the commenters’ response to the Overton Window point has merit, too: the OW is supposed to be something we can see, even in theory measure. So in theory you’d be able to show how Kucinich moves the Window leftward through his votes. I don’t know that you could show how Kucinich does this. Unlike the Congressional GOP fringe — and even people outside Congress like Gingrich or Palin — Kucinich attracts very little media attention and is taken seriously by very few people. The 2004 Howard Dean campaign moved the Overton Window on the war; the 2008 Edwards campaign moved the Overton Window, despite its other flaws, moved it on health care; I’m not sure how Kucinich has ever made that sort of impact. And if he really does cast the last vote to kill health care he’ll be doing much more damage in that one instant than any of his other protest votes combined ever did good.
