  2. I know — your post about this recently already shamed me once over it. Unless it’s Springsteen (or, recently, Durham’s own Mountain Goats) I’m hopeless on albums.

  3. I’ve actually taken to slowing down. I’m burning–get this–one album per very, very cheap CD, and then listening to that album exclusively for weeks at a time. It’s painful, because there’s a real joy in jumping from, say, this to this, but you can’t give into the temptation! I fear people are starting to value the quality of “catchy” to the exclusion of else in a way analogous to, say, having cotton candy for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
