Of course on an intellectual level I recognize these are still ads—but all the same there’s something about Stephen Colbert’s contempt for his own sponsors that I can’t help but find completely charming.

  1. Wasn’t contempt for their own sponsors what got the Dana Carvey show (featuring cast member Stephen Colbert) canceled after six episodes?

    • Sort of. My extensive study of comedy podcasts has taught me that the Dana Carvey Show was something of a trainwreck from the outset.
